Genetic Dominance Simulation

Genetic Dominance Simulation

Explore different types of genetic inheritance patterns by simulating crosses between parent organisms.

About Genetic Dominance

Complete Dominance

One allele completely masks the effect of the other in heterozygous individuals. The phenotype of heterozygotes is identical to homozygous dominant individuals.

Incomplete Dominance

Heterozygotes show an intermediate phenotype between the two homozygous phenotypes. Neither allele is completely dominant.

Codominance

Both alleles are fully expressed in heterozygotes, resulting in a phenotype that shows both traits simultaneously (not blended).

Overdominance

Heterozygotes have a phenotype that is more extreme or beneficial than either homozygote. Also known as heterozygote advantage.
