Note: This simulation uses the small angle approximation ($\sin(\theta) \approx \theta$) for Simple Harmonic Motion. This approximation is most accurate for initial angles less than about 15-20 degrees. The motion calculation follows SHM. The force components displayed use the actual $\sin(\theta)$ and $\cos(\theta)$ for better visual accuracy of the forces driving the motion. Mass does not affect the period or frequency in this ideal SHM model. Vectors are drawn from the bob, not necessarily to scale with real values but relative to their max possible values for visual clarity.
